Saturday and Sunday, October 26th-27th: Hay House “I Can Do It” Retreat. I, Ginny Brown had the opportunity to participate in the Hay House “I Can Do It” Conference held at the Javits Center in New York City on Saturday and Sunday, October 26th-27th. George held up a sign outside the convention center, stating “Hay House Authors Can Do It …SEEK Safely Promise… Sign It! Live It! Hay House is a huge publishing company for many self-help authors. The conference featured 16 prominent leaders in the self-help movement. We realized that this would be a perfect opportunity to meet our two target audiences…the self-help practitioners and the consumers of self-help materials. We greeted participants outside the Javits Center with information about the PROMISE and the SELF EMPOWERMENT GUIDE. I participated in the event, listening to the presenters and sharing the SEEK mission with some Hay House authors, event organizers and other participants. I hope receiving the PROMISE at this conference will encourage these self-help leaders to use this as an opportunity to make a public declaration of intent and demonstrate their commitment to ethical and safe business practices by signing on. The authors who presented were inspiring and had helpful information to enhance the journey of personal growth. Listening to Wayne Dyer and Louise Hay, the founder of Hay House publishing company, I have no doubt that they live the promise we are asking them to sign. The two day conference was filled with love, encouragement and hope. I was greeted warmly by many participants as I explained that the mission of SEEK is not to denigrate self-help but to encourage all seekers to approach their experience with a great open heart and open eyes while asking those leaders in the industry to declare their commitment to practice in a safe and ethical manner.
