Kirby Jam 2019!

Ten years ago, on October 8, 2009, the voices of Kirby Brown, James Shore, and Liz Neuman were silenced due to the reckless hubris of one self-proclaimed guru. Going to the Spiritual Warrior retreat to improve and expand their lives, Kirby, James, and Liz, instead found death.  All seekers of self-improvement are entitled to safe as well as productive journeys. SEEK Safely exists to provide education and advocacy for consumer protection. Hopefully their deaths will save the lives of others who seek to grow.

DINNER

This year for our annual fundraiser, we are doing something different. To celebrate the lives of Kirby, James and Liz, we are planning a buffet dinner at the Powelton Club in Newburgh on November 2, 2019, from 5:00-8:00 PM.  There will be fabulous music, dancing, great food, a silent auction and fun raffles.

MUSIC

The evening will feature the blues and jazz music of the amazing Slam Allen. We are also honoring Baer Matters, a group of amateur musicians who have provided music for at least 5 of our annual fundraising events. Gerry Baer, the band’s leader, along with Dave Jolly, Dean Sher, Bill Jolly and Matt Scherdin, who are all directors and service providers in the Hudson Valley region, have given freely of their time and talent for numerous charity organizations in Orange County for over 15 years. It is this selfless service and generosity to help the fundraising efforts of many local organizations that we wish to acknowledge.

Kirby was a moveable party, a music lover and a generous supporter of local entrepreneurs and groups who dedicated themselves to improving the world around them. Liz and James approached life in a similar fashion. It is for this reason that we’ll gather on November 2 to raise a glass toasting these three amazing people. We’ll gather to celebrate and support the efforts of SEEK Safely to prevent another self-help tragedy.

Tickets are $75/person. To register:
